The hole diameter must match your bar: in this category you'll find mainly plates for 30/31 mm bars plus versions with 1 inch, that's 25.4 mm. The weight range goes from 0.5 kg to heavy single plates with 120 kg, so everything from beginner sets to maximum strength is covered. Small intermediate sizes make sense to increase your training weight incrementally.
Gripper plates have recessed grip openings that let you hold the plate securely. This makes loading and unloading the bar much easier and also turns the plate into a usable hand weight for exercises like front raises or Russian twists. Classic plates without openings are even simpler and more traditional in form.
Store plates dry and wipe sweat or moisture after training, as moisture is the main culprit for rust. Small paint damage can be fixed before rust spreads. Don't let cast iron drop on hard ground, it damages both the plate and the floor. A floor mat under your training area is the simplest precaution.
With a hole diameter of 1 inch (2.5 cm), the plate fits standard barbell bars with this diameter.
