Weightlifting With the Bumper Plates

The stable, non-slip and tear-resistant solid rubber of the 5 kg, 10 kg, 15 kg, 20 kg to 25 kg bumper plates is an important safety factor in weightlifting. You can use the solid rubber weight plates with the reinforcing metal inner core for exercises such as squats, clean & jerks, deadlifts or snatches.

Available in the Following Versions:

  • 5 kg (diameter 45 cm, width 2 cm)
  • 10 kg (diameter 45 cm, width 4.5 cm)
  • 15 kg (diameter 45 cm, width 6 cm)
  • 20 kg (diameter 45 cm, width 7.5 cm)
  • 25 kg (diameter 45 cm, width 10 cm)
First, the hole diameter matters: there are plates for 30/31 mm bars and Olympic versions with 50/51 mm. You can't mix them. Weights range from 0.5 to 25 kg depending on the set, and gripper models have extra grip openings for safe handling. Buy in pairs so your dumbbell loads evenly.
Rubber plates have a metal core with rubber coating: they protect your floor and equipment when set down, but aren't designed for dropping. Bumper plates, including Hi Temp versions, are made entirely of rubber with a uniform diameter and withstand controlled drops during cleans, snatches, and deadlifts. For classic barbell training, rubber plates are enough; for functional training with drops from height, you need bumpers.
Wipe the plates regularly with a damp cloth and store them dry on a stand instead of stacked flat on the floor. Direct sun and heating vents make rubber fade and become brittle over time. The typical rubber smell from new plates fades naturally if you store them in a well-ventilated room at first.
The Bumper Plates are made of solid rubber with Shore A hardness of 85 and withstand a drop from a great height unscathed. An internal reinforcing metal ring provides additional stability.
With a hole diameter of 50/51 mm, they fit all barbells with 50 mm diameter.
