The Trap Bar is most commonly used for exercises such as Shrugs. This is an excellent workout for increasing the shoulder and trapezius muscles’ strength.
This bar provides the optimal centre of gravity, parallel to the body, which is what makes the Trap Bar so unique. Because of this, it is also often used for more complex exercises like the deadlift. You can keep your balance better as it’s easier to keep away from the shins.
The Trap Bar can also be used for overhead exercises such as the military press or for training of Strongman “Farmers’ Walk".
